Shazam! Fury of the Gods is set to be released on March 17, 2023. You can learn more about that by listening to the audio interview above or check back here next week for the full written transcription. It sounds like Currey had a blast making Shazam! Fury of the Gods, though the same could be said for her experience working on Fall. It really was funny to be the big sister across the board and so fun to get to play with everyone the whole time, bouncing back and forth. Just seeing what our adult cast did with their younger parts and vice versa. "Of the adult versions of the characters, I’m the only one that gets to jump between the two, and seeing the connections and similarities was just so fun for me. We asked Currey if she's discovered a whole new side of Mary and she responded, "Completely! Also, the dynamic of working with the ‘kid cast’ versus the ‘adult cast.’ It was really fun for me to find what that was like." "I get to be responsible for Mary’s heart and soul in the throughline, not to mention it’s really fun to be in the superhero suit." "I think getting to play her superhero form and human form has been so sweet," the actress continues in the video above. My brother and I, we love comics, and when I first found out about the character, Mary, he was so giddy to show me the comic book and say, ‘Oh man, you look just like her! This role is so meant for.’ Even with casting, Rich Delia showed me them and said, ‘It’s nuts. "Oh, it’s such a dream! It’s pretty special. Talking to us about the Blu-ray release of Fall, the actress revealed what it's been like to don a superhero costume and explore this character in a way the first movie didn't allow her to. The upcoming sequel, Shazam! Fury of the Gods, will see Currey suit up, playing both sides of Mary. The character has always been portrayed as being the same age as her non-super counterpart, and Grace Caroline Currey literally looked perfect for the role. In the 2019 movie, Michelle Borth played the adult Mary Marvel, something many fans argued didn't make sense. By saying the word "Shazam!" they transform into adult superheroes but keep their youthful personalities, making the Shazam Family feel unlike any other team of heroes. Shazam! introduced us to a group of foster kids who, thanks to Billy Batson and The Wizard, were imbued with incredible magical powers.
